I have just acquired the postponed match for Wolves Texaco Semi-Final game verses Derry on 8th December 1970 and was interested to note that between the postponed game and the replay in March the currency had changed from 1 Shilling to 5p. Possibly the only time that a programme for the same game used two different currencies!
An article in this months edition of Programme Monthly highlighted the similarity between the Chesterfield FC program from 1954/55 and that of Sunderland. I had noticed this before but from a slightly different angle having just acquired a Sunderland v Wolves programme from the same season and noticed its similarity to the Wolves programme.
I say similarity, copy would perhaps be a better word. Even down to the same 3d price either side of the central box. I would be interested to know were they all produced by the same person/company and who had the original version? |
